Water #11

Water is an environmental element in Total Miner. The water's surface in is very opaque. Water is very similar to lava with the exception of the ability to swim in water. It is difficult to see what is under the water when looking into it. Likewise, when submerged, it is difficult to see the land around the body of water you are in, and it becomes darker the deeper you are submerged.

Water can be transported and placed through the use of buckets.

Description[]

In-game description: "Water is wet. Splash Splash"

Purpose[]

Water spawns naturally in the world. Although players cannot obtain a water block via scripts, the easiest way to obtain water, is either a Bucket of Water, or bottle of water. Water buckets are officially used to add water to your builds, where a bottle of water, aside from being able to fabricate dough, is nearly useless in game, but may be useful for scripters. Bottled water has no healing or health benefits.

How to Obtain[]

  • Water cannot be obtained via a block/inventory, however you can use an empty bucket to collect some and transport it where ever needed.

Swimming[]

Depth meter In water

Red bar is health bar. Blue bar indicates how much air you have left.

Swimming underwater poses the risk of drowning. A blue bar appears above the health bar that indicates the amount of air you have left, in seconds. It scales with the amount of maximum health you have. After the blue bar is completely depleted, your red health bar will start decreasing at about -6 HP/s until you either surface for air or die. Pressing the jump button while underwater will make you rise to the surface.

Water Physics[]

Prior to 1.8, there were no water physics, which means players could essentially flood an entire map. With the 1.8 update, physics were added to water, acting similar to Minecraft's style, where water will flow from the source block, and either flow down, and/or spread outwards. This can similarly be seen with lava blocks, too.

Scripting Data[]

Trivia[]

  • There used to be a limit to how much space a bucket of water will fill or where water could flood into when it did not possess physics. Attempting to fill a significant space would cause red text to appear in the center of the screen stating "Can't clear, might flood."
